What is Wegovy® pill?
The Wegovy® pill is the FDA-approved oral semaglutide tablet from Novo Nordisk A/S, indicated alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity to reduce excess body weight and maintain weight reduction long term in adults with obesity, or with overweight and at least one weight-related condition, and to reduce the risk of major adverse cardiovascular events in adults with established cardiovascular disease and obesity or overweight. It contains the same semaglutide as the Wegovy® pen, taken as one tablet each morning instead of a weekly injection.
Pallas dispenses the Wegovy® pill through US-licensed pharmacies on a cash-pay basis. Insurance routing is not currently supported. Eligibility is determined by a licensed clinician based on your intake and clinical history.

In OASIS 4, adults taking the 25 mg Wegovy® tablet once daily lost an average of 13.6% of body weight at 64 weeks, versus 2.4% with placebo, alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity.

Dosing
Dosing & schedule
The Wegovy® pill follows the label's 90-day step-up to the 25 mg maintenance dose. Your clinician sets the pace; the label allows a slower escalation if a step isn't tolerated, and a switch to the weekly injection if the 25 mg tablet isn't.

Safety
Important safety information
GLP-1 medications can cause nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, and abdominal discomfort, particularly during dose increases. Rare but serious risks include pancreatitis, gallbladder disease, kidney injury from dehydration, and — based on animal studies — a possible risk of thyroid C-cell tumors. Patients with a personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma or Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MEN 2) should not use these medications. Always disclose your full medical history to your clinician. The Wegovy® pill carries a boxed warning for the risk of thyroid C-cell tumors and is contraindicated with a personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma or MEN 2; the full FDA-approved prescribing information, which covers both the tablets and the injection, is available from Novo Nordisk.
