Safety
Important safety information
GLP-1 medications can cause nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, and abdominal discomfort, particularly during dose increases. Rare but serious risks include pancreatitis, gallbladder disease, kidney injury from dehydration, and — based on animal studies — a possible risk of thyroid C-cell tumors. Patients with a personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma or Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MEN 2) should not use these medications. Always disclose your full medical history to your clinician.
